With so many health/wellness issues facing the people of God, we thought it not robbery to extend a helping hand in the development and sustainability of human life. Life is precious; it's like a vapor.
It's here one moment and gone the next.
Therefore, it becomes necessary that we become better caretakers of one of the most precious commodities that God has blessed us with.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Family Life Center (hereafter referred to as the FLC) of the Reedy Fork Center for Community Development is to provide creative and meaningful leisure-time activities for its members and guests in a Christian atmosphere and setting. This program seeks to complement, undergird, and strengthen all of our ministries and organizations. Emphasis will be placed upon leading individuals to Christ, as well as helping Christians grow and mature in their faith. Through the operations of the FLC, individuals are provided opportunities to grow physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. It is our desire that everyone who enters the FLC will have an opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ, to make a personal response to Christ, and to grow in Christlikeness.
- Participation in the FL is open to members of Reedy Fork Center for Community Development, Reedy Fork Baptist Church (RFBC) and/or one of its organizations. A responsible adult must accompany children under the age of 12. (Responsible adults are individuals who are 21 years of age or older. Children under the age of 12 should remain under the supervision of their responsible adult at all times in all facilities throughout the FLC.
- All persons who meet the above requirements are required to complete a registration form. A nominal fee will be charged per member and a permanent membership card will be issued. The membership card is required to gain entrance into the FLC. When an individual leaves RFBC/RFCCD, he/she forfeits Family Life Center membership. All membership cards are property of the FLC. There will be a fee for replacing lost cards. Membership cards serve the following purposes: Identification, especially in case of emergency; Security, Allows controlled admittance, Provides for equipment checkout
- Registration by all participants is necessary for safety and information. All forms for the FLC registration should be updated yearly (January).
- Guests are permitted two (2) visits to the FLC and must be accompanied by an FLC member. (Two (2) guests/member limit).
- Participation in the walking area is open to the public. However, no one under the age of 12 is allowed on the track unless accompanied by an adult.
- Guests are requested to complete a guest card and sign in at the Activity Desk upon each visit.
- The FLC is used to glorify God. Each person involved should in his or her dress and conduct follow the admonition of Proverbs 3:6, "In all thy ways acknowledge Him...
- Wearing clothing featuring alcoholic advertisements, foul language, or satanic symbols will not be allowed. Foul language will not be tolerated.
- Appropriate shoes for the gym are those with soft white or non-marking soles.
- Persons wearing spandex-type clothing should wear the appropriate over garment.
- When wearing shorts, they should be mid-thigh length acceptable minimum for both men and women.
- The FLC Hours of Operation will be posted in the FLC Lobby and listed in church publications.
- Because of the many seasonal activities and the wide variety of events, the FLC Hours of Operation may vary.
- The FLC will close 30 minutes prior to regularly scheduled church-wide meetings and will remain closed during such activities.
AREA REGULATIONS:
The Activity Desk, located on the gym level, is the welcome and information center for the FLC. ONLY authorized personnel are permitted behind the desk.
- Due to the possibility of injury, children under the age of 16 are not permitted in this area.
- This is a highly specialized area. Therefore, participants are encouraged to make a reservation at the Activity Desk for a Fitness Room orientation.
- While not required, it is STRONGLY suggested that you see a physician before starting to workout in the Weight Room.
- Each piece of equipment should be wiped down by the participant after it has been used.
- Persons using Fitness Center are limited to one (1) hour workouts at peak time or thirty (30) minutes per machine during peak time.
- Participants are encouraged to use lockers for personal storage during workouts.
- Appropriate shoes are required. No street shoes or black sole shoes are allowed on the playing court. The FLC staff should clear any "questionable" shoes.
- Full-length T-shirts along with other suitable attire should be worn at all times. To distinguish between teams, one team may check out practice jerseys.
- No "dunking" will be allowed on any of the basketball goals.
- Participation in the walking area is open to the public. However, no one under the age of 12 is allowed on the track unless accompanied by an adult.
- Basketballs, volleyballs, or any type of athletic equipment are prohibited for the walking area.
- All walking and jogging are to be in one direction. Please take note of the sign indicating the direction for the day.
- Eighteen (18) laps equal one mile. Walkers use the inside of the track closer to the basketball court lines/markings, except for passing. Joggers use the outside of the track closer to the wall.
- As a courtesy to others, please do not walk side-by-side. Consideration should be given to faster walkers and joggers who wish to pass.
- Basketballs, volleyballs, other athletic equipment, and baby strollers are not allowed on the walking area.
Lost and found items will be located at the Activity Desk and will be held for two (2) weeks. Participants are encouraged to put their names on personal items so they can be easily identified.
- Located on the first level, locker rooms are provided primarily in connection with gym and exercise activities.
- Personal locks may be used on any locker. However, no locks may be left on a locker overnight.
- Participants are encouraged to bring their own towels.
- Equipment will be checked out and must be used for its intended purpose.
- Individuals or groups who check out FLC equipment or property will be financially responsible for equipment that is damaged, lost, destroyed, or stolen.
- Some equipment may be checked out for activities away from RCCD/RFBC, after being cleared by the RFCCD/RFBC office and completing the proper forms.
- All equipment will be returned to the same place from which it was checked out. Items that are not FLC issued items are not allowed in the FLC, unless previously approved by FLC staff.
The Snack Room, or Craft Room, is provided for the convenience of those participating in FLC activities. Food and drinks are to stay within the snack/craft room area.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The use of the Family Life Center and all equipment will be at the risk of the participant.
- Reedy Fork Center for Community Development does not assume liability or responsibility for any participant.
- Reedy Fork Center for Community Development does not make any expressed or implied warranty of the premises, the equipment, machinery, fixtures, or furniture.
- Reedy Fork Center for Community Development is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
- These items are not allowed in the FLC: tobacco in any form, anything considered a weapon, any alcoholic beverage, any controlled substance, pets, gum, radios (Exception: Walkman's are permitted as long as they are used with headphones), or anything that would detract from the Christian atmosphere.
- Food and drinks will not be allowed in the Gymnasium, Fitness Room, or in the Walking Area. (Exception: Water in closed, non-breakable containers, such as bottled water)
- The Recreation Coordinator, FLC Staff and the Recreation Committee are responsible for the interpretation and enforcement of all rules.
- All reservations, procedures, and problems will be handled through the FLC Staff and/or the Church Staff in the absence of the Recreation Coordinator.
- Other situations not specifically covered in this list of policies will be acted upon if and when the need arises at the discretion of the FLC Staff and/or the Recreation Committee.
Membership Cards
A Membership Card is required for participation. Each Reedy Fork Baptist Church member will pay a $25.00 processing fee to cover the cost of membership for 1 year. Non-members will pay $100.00/individual or $150.00/family plus $10.00 processing fee per person to cover the cost of membership card. Membership is only allowed for those 12 and older and all minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
